Distance Learning |
|
The Distance Learning program allows students to study from home through the use of computer software. Students enrolled in Distance Learning receive most of their instruction from the computer but are also provided one hour a week with a teacher to receive tutoring and assistance. Since instruction and assignments are on the computer, students have the ability to work any day of the week and any time of the day. This flexibility in the work schedule appeals to many students, but Distance Learning requires greater discipline and study skills in order for students to be successful. Students with their own computers can have the necessary software loaded on their computers. Students who do not have a computer will be provided one by the school system. All students in Distance Learning will need to have Internet access. If you do not have Internet access, you will need to get it. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, we can provide you with dial-up Internet access. Students in the Distance Learning program may take the usual core subjects: Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, they may take a few electives. |
