Student Announcements Piano and Guitar recital On Thursday December 6th the Choral Department will present a Piano and Guitar recital. The performance will feature all of FCHS’s Piano and Guitar students as well as Madrigals. It will be held in Central Auditorium and will begin at 7:30 pm. Come out and enjoy. Seniors: The time has come to order senior t-shirts, long sleeve tees, and sweatshirts. Order forms are available from your senior class officers and are in the senior lounge. The forms and money can be turned in to Ms. Holt, Ms. Grandstaff, Coach Morris, or Coach Davis, and is due by Friday December 7. There is a minimum number that must be purchased, so don’t delay and get your forms and money in as soon as possible. PAUL BRAGG SCHOLARSHIP FUND This year $85,000 will be given to graduating seniors from Fluvanna County High School to attend a 4 year college, community college or technical school. One student winner will receive a $40,000 scholarship) payable over 4 years), three will win $10,000 and three will win $5000. Applications are available on the school website (www.fluco.org/FCHS/guid_resource.htm) under guidance resources or in the career center. Deadline for completed application is March 31 and deadline for completed FAFSA student aid report and Financial Aide Award letter is May 2. (Please note the two different deadlines) Late information will not be accepted so make certain that you meet the established deadlines. YEARBOOKS Personalized yearbooks are still on sale either through Jostens Online, or by obtaining a form from Mr. Benck's room #219. If you want your name stamped on the front or personalized icons you will need to order your yearbook before January 31, 2008. After the cutoff date for personalization you will still be able to purchase a yearbook when they come out around the first of May this spring. The cost of the yearbooks will then be $60. If you have questions please ask anyone on the yearbook staff or stop by Mr. Benck's room. STUDENTS TAKING PHOTOGRAPHY SECOND SEMESTER: You must have a 35 mm film camera to take the class. It should have an adjustable shutter and aperture. If you have any questions please see Ms. Greenwood BEFORE break. STUDENTS Anyone interested in attending the Women's Cavalier Classic on December 29th both the 4:30 & 7 p.m. games Ms. Bright has 20 tickets for free admissions. First come/first serve - limit of 2 tickets per student until gone. Selective Service Registration Just a reminder to young men 18 years of age or about to turn 18. You are required by law to register with Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday. Without registering you will not be eligible to receive any financial aid for college expenses. Young men age 17 years and 3 months can preregister. You may register at www.sss.gov or stop by Ms. Bright's office. LIBRARY CANDY CONTEST Stop by the library media center and enter the snowman contest. The winner will receive a jar of candy. The contest ends December 19, 2007.
