UVa Facilities Management offers an Apprenticeship Program in the areas of: Electrical, Plumbing, Mason/Plastering, Carpentry, HVAC and Electronic Tech. If so then the STAR Program may be for you! --Seniors – PVCC Spring Fling will be help on Sat. May 17 from 9:00 until noon for prospective students, their parents and friends. Tour the campus, Learn about the programs offered, discover career options, talk with faculty and staff and register for summer classes or get ready for the fall. --Virginia State University Department of Agriculture and Human Ecology is offering 7- $2000 awards to qualified students planning on studying in certain areas. Must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and SAT score of 900 (Math and Critical Reading) or ACT – 17. To find out which areas apply come to the Career Center. and pick up an application. **Piedmont Virginia Community College Foundation Educational foundation Scholarships for the 08-09 – A variety of scholarship opportunities are available for students planning on attending PVCC full time in the fall. Award amounts range from $850 to $3000. Applications and materials for these awards are due by May 2. Materials are available in the high school career center.

Cunningham PTO Scholarship - The Cunningham PTO Scholarship Program was created to award individuals planning to continue their education who have achieved academic excellence while also being involved in school and community activities. Must have 3.25 GPA or high and have attended Cunningham Elementary School. Deadline to submit completed application is May 10 to Ms. Bright. applications available in the career center.
**Rivanna Lions Club Scholarship – any senior planning on attending a 2-year continuing educational institution may apply. The scholarship will be not less than $1000 nor more than $2200. Must have a sincere desire to advance their education and be in need of financial assistance. Must maintain a GPA of C or better to continuing receiving funds for the next semester. Deadline: May 2, 2008
**FCCW Community Achievement Award – Seniors with a minimum 2.0 GPA and planning on continuing their education are invited to apply. You must submit an essay on “the Importance of Community Service and What I’ve done for my community”. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded. Deadline to submit the application is May 5 to the scholarship provider. Applications available in the high school career center.
--Drew Bunn Memorial Golf Scholarship – Awarded to a Junior Golfer with a valid verifiable golf handicap and enrolling in a school of higher learning this fall. Deadline to apply July 1
