New Student Orientation: 9th grade Objectives: After completion of this unit, the student will be able to: Identify the Types of Diplomas and the requirements for each. Give examples of what types of jobs one can obtain with various levels of education. Identify a method for identifying careers that match the students interests, attitudes and values. Identify classes that should be taken in high school to become prepared for the various college majors or career fields. Find where to obtain the training necessary to enter the career areas identified as potential options. Explain what tests are required to get into various continuing education programs. Calculate their GPA from a high school transcript. Develop an individual High School 4-year Plan of Action to prepare then for their Post High School goal (s).
