Athletics
The interscholastic program is open to all students in grades 9 through 12. In each season, there are opportunities for both boys and girls to participate. It is the aim of the department of athletics to provide a comprehensive and educationally sound program that meets the needs of the student that it serves.

The interscholastic program is operated under the rules and regulations set forth by the Virginia High School League. Additionally, certain local rules are also in effect and and are a part of the student athletic handbook. A copy of the handbook is made available to all student-athletes when they try out for a squad for the first time.

VHSL regulations require a student-athlete to complete the following before trying out for an athletic team:

  1. Prepare a VHSL eligibility form (parent consent).
  2. Obtain a physical examination.
  3. Purchase school provided accident insurance or sign an insurance waiver form that indicates the parent or guardian has adequate insurance coverage.
  4. Sign the athletic handbook.
  5. Pass a minimum of three (3) full-time subjects the semester prior to participation.

2008 - 2009 Athletes
Anyone that plans on trying out for a sport during the 2008 - 2009 school year will need to get a VHSL physical. THE PHYSICAL FORM CAN BE PICKED UP FROM THE MAIN OFFICE OR THE TRAINER. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FORM THAN THIS ONE. All physicals for the 08-09 season must be dated after May 1, 2008.
