The School Nutrition Program participates in the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs, regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture.
Meal patterns and requirements are set by the U.S.D.A. Enhanced Food-Based Menu Planning Approach.
School breakfast, where served, is required to meet 1/4 RDA averaged over 1 week’s meals.
School lunch is required to meet 1/3 RDA averaged over 1 week’s meals. |

No more than 30 percent of total calories over a school week should come from fat.
Less than 10 percent of total calories over a school week should come from saturated fat. |
