FLUVANNA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS APPOINTS MRS.ANGIE BLEVINS AS THE NEW COORDINATOR OF TESTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY
FLUVANNA COUNTY, VA - At the Fluvanna County School Board meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the Board unanimously approved the appointment of Mrs. Angie Blevins as Coordinator of Testing and Accountability for the division. The position became available in April 2026. Following a comprehensive review of applicants, an interview committee made up of division leadership and educators participated in the selection process.
Assistant Superintendent Gemma Soares shared her enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, “Angie brings a strong commitment to student achievement, a collaborative mindset, and exceptional attention to detail. Her experience and dedication will be a tremendous asset to our schools and division. We are excited for the continued positive impact her leadership and support will have in this new role as we continue advancing academic achievement and accountability across our schools.”
Mrs. Blevins earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Education in K–12 Administration. She is entering her 37th year in education, including 30 years with Fluvanna County Schools. Throughout her career, she served as a mathematics teacher for 24 years and has spent the past 12 years as the FCHS Testing Coordinator.
“I feel honored and excited to step into this new role so I can continue to help the children of Fluvanna County. I will continue to keep the best interests of the children in my heart,” said Mrs. Blevins.
Superintendent Peter Gretz added, “We are excited to welcome Angie into her new role as Testing and Accountability Coordinator. Angie brings valuable experience, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to supporting student achievement. She has consistently demonstrated professionalism, collaboration, and a dedication to excellence, and I am confident she will build strong partnerships with staff, families, and the community while helping advance the division’s academic goals and continued success for all students.”

FLUVANNA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS APPOINTS MR. ROB SILVERMAN AS THE NEW SUPERVISOR OF STUDENT SERVICES
FLUVANNA COUNTY, VA -At the Fluvanna County School Board meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the Board unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Rob Silverman as Supervisor for Student Services for the division. The position became available in April 2026. Following a comprehensive review of applicants, an interview committee made up of division leadership and educators participated in the selection process.
Assistant Superintendent Don Stribling shared his support for the appointment, stating, “We are excited to welcome Mr. Silverman to his new role. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a strong dedication to serving others and has built meaningful relationships with our students and families. We look forward to the continued positive impact he will have as he leads Abrams Academy and oversees student services. His experience, passion, vision, and commitment to excellence will help strengthen our work and support the continued success of our students, staff, and community.”
Mr. Silverman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the State University of New York College at Cortland and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Liberty University. He is entering his 30th year in Fluvanna County Schools.
“I am honored to step into the role of Supervisor of Student Services and will continue to serve the students, families, and the Fluvanna County community. I am excited to work alongside the school’s dedicated staff and leadership teams to create an engaging, supportive, and high-quality educational experience for all of our students,” said Mr. Silverman.

Rob brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position and possesses the drive, determination, and core values needed for his new role. FCPS is currently planning to hold its 2026 graduation ceremony outside on the football field at 6:00pm Friday, May 22nd.
Six (6) rain tickets will be issued to every graduate at graduation practice on Thursday, May 21st at 9:00am, also on the football field.
We will continue to monitor the weather. If we decide to move the ceremony indoors to the FCHS gymnasium, an announcement will be made no later than 12noon on Friday. Details about the possible indoor ceremony (parking, security, etc.) will be issued with Friday's announcement if necessary.
Please inform any extended family members or friends traveling from out of town that travel arrangements should be made at their own discretion, as the indoor graduation ceremony will allow only six (6) guests per graduate (with limited overflow into the FCHS auditorium).
