FLUVANNA COUNTY, VA - The Fluvanna County School Board is excited to announce Mrs. Michelle Ryman as the new Fluvanna Middle School Assistant Principal. The School Board voted unanimously to appoint Mrs. Ryman on June 10, 2026, at their regular meeting.

Mrs. Ryman is a familiar face in our schools, where she brings years of experience serving students as the Lead Teacher and Third Grade Teacher at Carysbrook Elementary over the past 8 years.  Mrs. Ryman earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Education from Old Dominion University. Mrs. Ryman completed her Administration and Supervision PreK-12 degree at James Madison University. 

“As a proud Fluvanna graduate, it is truly a full-circle moment to step into the role of Assistant Principal at Fluvanna Middle School. I am honored to continue serving the students, families, and community that have shaped me into the educator and person I am today. Supporting others as they grow into confident, curious, and lifelong learners has always been at the heart of my work, and I am excited to begin this new chapter alongside the students and staff of Fluvanna Middle School,” says Mrs. Ryman.

Ms. Dugolinsky said, “I am thrilled to welcome Mrs. Ryman to the FMS family! Her passion for students, commitment to excellence, and positive energy will be a tremendous asset to our school community, and I am excited for all that we will accomplish together.”

FCPS opened up the position in May 2026. A leadership team was able to pool applicants and assemble an interview committee comprised of school administrators, teachers, and educators to bring what FCPS strongly believes is a great step forward for Fluvanna Middle School, their students, families, staff, and community. 

Mrs. Ryman is excited to continue her journey of serving the community she has always called home. She and her husband reside in Scottsville with their fur babies. When she’s not at school, you can find her with her hands in the garden, exploring a new hiking trail, or hunting for antique treasures. As she begins this exciting new chapter, she looks forward to continuing to build strong connections and making a positive impact on the students, families, and staff of Fluvanna Middle School.
