Due to the continued threat of rain throughout the day, the graduation committee has decided that this year’s graduation ceremony will be held inside the FCHS gymnasium.
Graduates have been provided with six tickets for entry into the gymnasium and are still expected to arrive at FCHS by 4:15 PM.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause you and your family. We remained hopeful that we would be able to hold graduation outdoors this year, but ultimately decided to err on the side of caution as the weather conditions did not cooperate.

We look forward to celebrating our graduates and their families tonight at 6:00 PM in the FCHS gymnasium. Limited overflow seating will be available in the FCHS auditorium. Please plan to arrive early, as traffic is expected to be heavy.

Flucos, Family, and Friends,

FCPS is currently planning to hold its 2026 graduation ceremony outside on the football field at 6:00pm Friday, May 22nd.

Six (6) rain tickets will be issued to every graduate at graduation practice on Thursday, May 21st at 9:00am, also on the football field.

We will continue to monitor the weather. If we decide to move the ceremony indoors to the FCHS gymnasium, an announcement will be made no later than 12noon on Friday. Details about the possible indoor ceremony (parking, security, etc.) will be issued with Friday's announcement if necessary.

Please inform any extended family members or friends traveling from out of town that travel arrangements should be made at their own discretion, as the indoor graduation ceremony will allow only six (6) guests per graduate (with limited overflow into the FCHS auditorium).

Also available, the ceremony will be live streamed on the FCPS YouTube page at... https://www.youtube.com/@FluvannaCountyPublicSchool.

Thank you for your understanding.

Report card

Good afternoon FLUCO families,

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and staff, Fluvanna County Public Schools (FCPS) utilized trained detection canines, in partnership with the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, and our Administrative teams, to conduct a safety and security walkthrough of Abrams Academy, Fluvanna Middle School (7th grade hallway), and Fluvanna County High School this morning.

These walkthroughs were conducted in coordination with trained handlers and are designed as a training module for those departments and to deter and detect the presence of prohibited items that violate school board policy and the FCPS Student Code of Conduct. The canines are trained to detect scents only and do not have direct contact with students.

The purpose of these trainings is preventive and to reinforce expectations for a safe, drug-free, and distraction-free learning environment for all students. During these events, schools will enter a Code Purple - HOLD (modified lockdown status), which allows staff to continue instruction but eliminates hallway traffic. Students who are in the hallways or arriving late during this time frame were escorted to the main office and then to their appropriate classrooms.

These planned and organized events are also a continuation of an effort to partner with and allow local law enforcement personnel, along with emergency responders, to familiarize themselves with our buildings and campus from a safety perspective.

This type of collaboration allows FCPS to be active and engaged with our schools, staff, and community to decrease potential disruptions and inappropriate activities during the school day.

The time spent conducting these drills and training reaffirms our commitment to a safe and conducive environment for all of our FLUCOS and continues with a level of high expectation and positive structure for the school day.

If you have additional questions regarding these interventions, contact your student(s) school administrative team.
